Recording Assyrian reliefs and cuneiform tablets

Project Description

During June of this year Archaeovision completed a series of RTI data captures of a number of Assyrian reliefs and cuneiform tablets for Jacob Dahl on behalf of the Cuneiform Digital Library Initiative. The work took place at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh and The Ashmolean Museum in Oxford. In total thirty RTI captures were completed for this project, twenty at the National Museum of Scotland and ten at the Ashmolean. All the recorded objects ranged in sized and were captured using the highlight method. The aim of this project was to analyse the hard to read inscriptions of the reliefs and tablets as well as to identify the affects that the firing had on some of the reliefs.
